A Brief Introduction to Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga is one of the most unique yoga disciplines, carefully designed to cleanse a practitioner's spirit and body. Bikram yoga was developed, among other considerations, with the tourniquet effect in mind. The series of poses stretch and balance a person’s system in such a way that blood travels freely throughout the veins, flushing out the arteries.

Bikram yoga is distinct from other schools of yoga in that classes are carried out in rooms with temperatures of 105 degrees and 40 percent humidity. The intense heat benefits individuals in numerous ways, purifying the body and allowing for deeper muscle stretches, among other advantages.
