Autism Speaks is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create an inclusive world for every person with autism. Its services, programs, initiatives, advocacy, and research efforts aim to achieve an enhanced quality of life for all persons living with autism and their families.
In 2023, “My Cause, My Cleats” chose Autism Speaks as its designated beneficiary, a league-wide initiative of the National Football League (NFL). Established in 2016, it raises money for charities that the NFL supports.
NFL players and coaches wear customized cleats. As the beneficiary, the cleats featured Autism Speaks. At the end of each game, players and coaches donate their cleats to the NFL Auction, where fans can bid on them. Proceeds go to the NFL Foundation, which distributes them to designated charities.
Players and coaches who donated cleats for auction came from the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and New York Giants.
